En 2009, l’équipe du studio a décidé de se concentrer sur la création de projets musicaux et plus particulièrement sur la réalisation de CD. L’objectif du studio est d’offrir son soutien aux membres qui travaillent directement avec les animateurs (lesquels ont tous une expérience musicale) pour créer, enregistrer et mettre en marché des disques de qualité, toujours dans une optique de discours réfléchi.
Le résultat du premier projet est un EP de 6 titres, intitulé“The NoBadTape Vol. 1″, qui réunit cinq jeunes rappeurs de Côte-des-Neiges (Lokita, Outsider, Jay-Cee, Vinh-Set et Kem-J), âgés entre 15 et 18 ans et qui, au fur et à mesure des semaines de travail, ont joints leurs forces pour former le collectif NBS CREW . Ces jeunes artistes s’expriment en quatre langues (Français, Anglais, Espagnol et Tagalog) et touchent, tout au long du disque, plusieurs sujets qui leurs sont chers: l’amour (LOVE), l’unité (Be Yourself), le quartier (King of the day) ou tout simplement, la musique (What we love to do). La production musicale du disque est assurée par deux des animateurs (Syde Barrow, responsable du studio, producteur et DJ français, marseillais d’adoption et TR3S, producteur montréalais d’origine marocaine) et le EP comprend aussi la participation de Lou Piensa et Meduza de Nomadic Massive, du chanteur sénégalais Def du groupe Prodiges Galsen et du DJ marseillais DJ PH.
À noter aussi que le mixage et le mastering ont été réalisés par Moonstarr, producteur, DJ et fondateur du label Public Transit Recordings.
Le Studio NobadSound et la Maison des Jeunes de la Côte-des-Neiges sont fiers de lancer leur premier projet musical, la NobadTape vol.1, le vendredi 5 mars entre 17H et 20H à la galerie Off the Hook, situé au 3ème étage du 1021a, rue Ste-Catherine Ouest, à Montréal.
In 2009, it began producing music of professional quality which could then be released on record. This initiative offered the young members of the studio the opportunity to work directly with the staff (who all have musical backgrounds themselves) to create, record, and develop musical projects that express conscious lyrics and thought provoking view points.
Studio NoBadSound’s debut project is a 6 track EP titled, ”The NoBadTape Vol. 1″, which features 5 young Hip-Hop artists between the ages of 15 and 18 years old from CDN ( Lokita, Outsider, Jay-Cee, Vinh-Set, and Kem-J ) who joined forces over several months to create the group NBS CREW. These young talents express themselves in 4 languages ( French, English, Spanish, and Tagalog) and explore various subjects that are close to their hearts including : Love ( LOVE ), Unity ( Be Yourself ), the neighborhood of CDN( King of the day ), and simply the music that inspires them ( What We Love To Do). The musical production on the album is provided by two of the studio’s animators(Syde Barrow, the studio director, music producer and French Dj and TR3S, a Montreal based music producer of Moroccan descent). The record also includes the talents of Lou Piensa and Meduza from Nomadic Massive and the vocals of Def, a Senagalese singer from the group Prodiges Galsen and DJ PH from Marseille, France.
The album was mixed and mastered by Moonstarr who is a local music producer, Dj and Public Transit Recordings Label founder.
Studio NoBadSound and the Maison Des Jeunes Côte-Des-Neiges are proud to launch their debut musical project, NoBadTape Vol. 1 on Friday March 5th between 5 and 8pm at Off the Hook Gallery, 1021a ST. Catherine 3rd Floor.
